December Evening

Mostly I am with these guys from 3 p.m. to midnight while Michael works.  We love our time together waiting for Dad to come home around 8 p.m. on his lunch break.  In the meantime, we are silly like this.  We play games, the boys take baths, we watch movies, make dinner, read stories, listen to music and dance, and clean up.  It is winter and we are stuck inside.  That last couple months we have been a one car family and the boys have had colds off and on.  We have spent A LOT of time inside our house with just us.  I wish it was summer all the time but since it isn't we try to have fun inside.  Even though it is cold and we are stuck inside, at least I get to spend it with these two.  

Fall 2013 Recap

Because I just started blogging again, I have a lot to catch up on.  Here are the highlight pictures of fall and winter 2013.  Mostly they are Carter and Caleb, who are pretty much our life.

Carter loves going with Dad to feed the ducks and tries to catch them, but hasn't succeeded yet.  Thank heavens.

Michael said we should make a pizza roll and we did - as a family.  So yummy.  :)

Caleb is sick.  Carter came to the rescue with a thermometer and cuddles but got distracted by a movie.  Gotta love the "little brother" shirt on big brother.  Love hand-me-downs.  :)

Brothers.

Caleb nearly 8 months old.  This big boy can crawl and pull himself up to the couch, but doesn't sleep through the night or have any teeth coming in yet.

Caleb's first real owie.  He was just beginning to be mobile and wiggled over to the humidifier and knocked it over, touching hot water and sustaining 2nd degree burns.  Ouch! (about 6.5 months old)

Caleb Spotlight

Caleb Barau Ongesel - Born 4.15.13 - weighing 7 lbs 14 oz

Caleb Barau Ongesel was born April 15, 2013.  Tax day.  Wonderful day.  We love this little guy.  He weighed 7 lbs 14 oz.  Now he is almost 8 months old.  Time is flying!  Barau is a Palauan name from Michael's side of the family.  He started crawling a few weeks ago and is really getting around.  His favorite things are Carter, nursing, eating, and being held.  He is definitely a snuggler, and we love it.  Caleb is a calm baby most of the time, but gets very excited when Carter plays with him.  He is not a good sleeper.  We hope for better nights later on despite feeling exhausted now.  We love having our two boys!!

Carter Spotlight

Carter age 3

My Carter is three years old.  He likes trains, Monsters Inc., and Despicable Me.  He loves being the center of attention.  He is a good little entertainer and loves talking to adults or kids that are bigger than him.  Rather than wearing clothes, Carter would like to just wear "big boys" and wrap up in big blankets all day.  He likes to sing songs from Momma Mia and nursery.  He is my trouble maker - making messes all the time.  If I leave him alone I usually come back to find that I am locked out of the house and sprinkles or rice krispies are spilled behind the couch, and other yucky messes I don't even want to remember.

Carter likes to make Caleb laugh but doesn't like Caleb to crawl over and get his toys.  (This is new because Caleb just became mobile - look out Carter!)  He likes to pull apart anything that will come apart, so he ends of breaking a lot of things unintentionally - just seeing how they work.  It is an expensive curiosity.  He makes up for it with a super loving and caring personality.  He notices when I need a hug, and makes a great companion at the grocery store.  I really like taking him with me too run errands because he is a constant chatterbox and I love it.  He likes to quote movies and talk about people he sees in the store or in our family.  He is also an excellent story teller.  He uses both hands to illustrate a story and loves to describe what he sees and hears.  I love this boy.  I feel very blessed to be his mom.
